Wow, it has been a busy week since we posted our last blog. Thank you for everyone’s patience is getting information and prices for items currently on sale. I’m proud to say we’ve found homes for some fabulous items.

I appreciate everyone’s feedback during our Going Out of Business Sale and wanted to address some of your concerns.

First Issue: Pricing - We are not posting discounted prices on our designer pieces out of respect to our artists. I don’t want my designers to be harrassed by our competitors during our Going Out of Business Sale. Kane Marie will continue in San Diego and therefore need to keep our relationships positive and intact.

Second Issue: General Information - We are unable to post any technical information on our pieces due to time restrictions. We want to show you our available items as quickly as possible. We have millions in inventory and can’t load it fast enough. If we held back loading images to gather information, you’d never see the best selection now.

Third Issue: In Stock/Sold Items - We are doing our best to keep the inventory current and up to date online. However, it is a big challenge considering our massive foot traffic in our physical store and overwhelming amount of phone calls and emails pouring in. Therefore, we prefer people give us a call or email us to verify an item is still available, especially during the weekends.

By the way, we’ve added some amazing new artists to the website for your viewing pleasure. From the unique 18k/22k hand woven pieces by Kent Raible to the mystical designs by Spanish designer Margerit. Also, check out Rina Limor’s fashionable diamond jewelry and our newest couture pieces by Michael Beaudry.

I can’t believe it’s mid August already!

We have officially opened up our Going Out of Business Sale to the general public and we’ve had an amazing response. From selling our buddha boards to great jewelry items, it’s been exciting to see my pieces find a good home.

We’ve been working very hard to load our best sellers online. I’m very proud to announce that we’ve loaded new merchandise from Alex Sepkus, Gurhan, and Liquid Metal. These designers are so much in demand that it has been extremely difficult to keep items in the case for very long.

Also, look forward to seeing more jewelry from Rina Limor, Kent Raible, and Margerit. As we get closer to the holiday season, we will be loading more of our gift glass and ornaments for your shopping pleasure. We definitely want to assist our clients in making someone’s holiday extra special, so please shop early!!

I’d also love to hear from you as far as what you’d like to see loaded online or any changes we can make to assist you in shopping at Kane Marie.

Wow, what an exhausting day! We’ve had an overwhelming response to our Going Out of Business Sale so far.

We’ve had people left and right coming from as far as Richmond and Northern Virginia to say goodbye to my wonderful gallery and its staff. It was a great mix of people! There were people who’ve shopped Kane Marie when it first opened and then there were people who had just started making Kane Marie one of their favorite destinations.

I want to encourage those of you who haven’t come in to visit, to not delay any further. A lot of our beautiful glass and artwork have already found homes! Our jewelry is quickly flying out of our cases!

This is a great opportunity for everyone to come in and get something extra special at a great price. There has never been a more exciting opportunity to collect some of the best art and jewelry.

Thank you everyone for an amazing, supportive response to my closing of KM. I wanted to take some time today to give you a bit more technical information.

Kane Marie will be open until the end of the year 2008. To better serve our customers, we will be open 7 days a week. Our new hours are Monday – Saturday 11am-6pm and Sunday 1pm-5pm.

I have set up a personal phone number for all internet customers to contact me directly if they are interested in purchasing items. My toll free number is 888-341-5551 and will be available 7am-10pm Eastern Time. Although not all items are posted online, we are in the process of loading new images everyday. Make sure you check back with us frequently.

On a personal note, I’d like to make sure that one point is clear. Kane Marie’s number one goal is to service our customers and provide them with the best product we have available. I have received tons of negative feedback associating us with a local jeweler that has just recently gone out of business. I want to make sure that our audience, both local and out of state, know that Kane Marie is an outstanding business which provides a great environment for its customers, employees and vendors. That will not change within the next 6 months!

I am available to address any concerns anyone might have 7 days a week. I am proud of what I’ve been able to build and look forward to seeing everyone come out and support us one more time.

Dearest Kane Marie Friends,

It has been almost nine years since I first walked into Kane Marie. I was first inspired by the beautiful hand blown glass and the fabulous jewelry, but then fell in love with the staff I worked with, the artists I represented and the customers with whom I built a relationship. I never thought there would be a day that I wouldn’t be opening these doors to turn on the lights, and get prepared for the business day. However, that day has come.

My husband has served in the United States Navy for over 10 years and has just received transfer orders to San Diego, CA.

After much discussion with my business partner, she and I have decided to close Kane Marie’s physical location in Virginia Beach, VA.

I want to personally thank all of you for your generous support of Kane Marie. Without you, we would’ve never had 9 years of wonderful memories and stories to tell. Please look forward to unbelievable savings both online and in the store to help us not just in closing Kane Marie, but in celebrating our wonderful success.

Although this will not be an easy process, I am looking forward to writing a new chapter in my life. By late fall of 2009, my new company will be debuting and I look forward to sharing all the juicy details with you.
