Medspas Dangerous?

image

I was reading an article the other day about how dangerous medspas are.  Really? I’ve had a couple of facials done, but nothing serious.  People claim they’ve scheduled themselves for basic everyday things, such as botox, collagen, etc… They end up coming out with WEIRD side effects.  One lady went in to have her lips done and now has a lopsided smile.  A lady was going to have some type of surgery, (sorry I can’t even pronounce what it is), so they give her some type of rubbing cream to put all over her body.  She wakes up the next day with blisters all where she rubbed the cream.  I mean ugly blisters.  Another lady was shown with horrible scabs all along her back!!

What the article was trying to do was educate us on being informed of who we trust with our bodies.  Why is this not a priority for us who have these treatments?  They state that a lot of doctors lend their names to these spas just to lure customers in.  They are hardly ever there.  Other not so experienced people do these sensitive treatments.  Is this true?  I’m not sure what to believe....

I’m curious to know if people have had this happen to them before and have they learned from these mistakes?
