Every fall, boots are advertised everywhere as the “it” shoe to wear. I hate boots! First of all, they don’t look right unless you’re 5’9” and weigh 110 lbs. Secondly, the pointy toes only look cute, they definately don’t feel cute. Thirdly, the length of the boots this year are at ankles. Has anyone actually worn these? They look weird unless you are wearing a mini, tiny skirt or dress and have legs like Rihanna. You could wear them with jeans, but then what’s the point?

I was in Naples, Fl. on business and had a few spare hours to spend at a Saks Fifth Avenue there. I’m not really a shopper of Saks as I don’t have one near here. Anyways, I was told by a sales person there that they were going to have a 40% off sale and they would hold anything I wanted to ship me my order. I was like, SHUT UP!
So of course, I didn’t even eat dinner for this exciting adventure. I bought the most beautiful Dolce & Gabbana dress that is killer. I love theory and Diane Von Furstenburg. So this past Saturday I wore one of the dresses I bought…

Unfortunately, this Thanksgiving I was home alone. My husband had stayed up north with the kids at his family’s house, since I had to work all weekend. Anyways, a girlfriend and I decided we would go toNordstrom’s to shop their clearance racks and maybe have some dinner. My friend suggests that we should maybe go out to hear some good music. It’s about Saturday night about 10pm, there has to be something jumpin’, right? Well wait till you see what happened…

So I have overheard more people saying how they have been shopping for themselves before they have started shopping for others. I have to confess that I am glad I am not the only one who likes to treat herself well. I had a new client come in today who was feeling really guilty because she bought two things for herself and she came in looking for gifts for others. An older lady said she was treating herself as well-us single girls need to take care of ourselves no matter out age!

This past week we had the pleasure of having Christian, a representative of Gurhan Jewelry, come by our store for a trunk show. Oh my goodness, what a great time we had. The girls of Kane Marie absolutely loved learning about all the different techniques Gurhan incorporates into his jewelry. This 24k gold jewelry was definately a popular trend this weekend. Christian did a fabulous job matching up the perfect piece with every customer that came in. What was truly amazing was the fact that people didn’t even know gold came in 24k. People actually though it was fake!....

Kane Marie has always marketed women for their jewelry, art and gifts. For the 2007 holiday season, I wanted to think outside the box. I wanted to do something extra special for the men during this holiday season. So I started to put my mind to work. What do men like? Cigars, Yes. Drinks, Yes. Good atmosphere, Yes. Good Deals on Merchandise, Yes. Then I thought, how could I have this party without some pretty ladies modeling jewelry. WOW! I thought I could throw the most amazing party that the men of Hampton Roads haven’t experienced. So my staff and I began to organize an amazing event. My graphics guy came up with an amazing invitation. It was an image of a sherlock holmes looking guy holding a ring. I thought it was classy and sophisticated. We sent a couple of these invites out, and received very little response. So I thought we needed to spice up the invitation a bit. I told him to find me images of lovely ladies that would attract men’s attention. So we did and WOW.
