Mr. Amir Hadjibay began as a loose gemstone dealer in the early 1940's. With a booming jewelry industry in India, he began buying from the finest mines and sources as well as sometimes buying from the Maharajas and collectors. As his inventory and reputation grew, he began traveling through Europe and the Far East in search of new sources and clients. With a growing number of retail customers and a selection from the finest gems in the world, he and his family moved to Italy.
While in Italy, Amir and his sons continued offering the finest gemstones to manufacturers and retail customers. They opened an office in Milan and as business grew they opened a second office in Valenza. The economy in post World War II Europe was burgeoning and Bayco became known for the most precious and rare stones in the world. As manufacturers, they realized the demand for high end jewelry and began offering exquisite pieces to retail buyers from all over Europe.
By 1982, Amir sent his youngest son to America to open a U.S. branch of Bayco in New York. He and his family soon closed the offices in Milan and Valenza to join in the American business. As the demand for fine finished jewelry continued to grow, Bayco began manufacturing more and more of their own jewelry. Their pieces are now sold in stores around the world.
In the early 1990's the company began branding the name Bayco in the U.S. and started exhibiting in the world's finest exhibitions. They also began an advertising campaign that can still be seen today.
Today, Bayco sells to only the finest retail jewelers in the world and continues to exhibit their exquisite craftsmanship from their ateliers. Amir's two sons, Moris and Giacomo, are always looking for the most precious and rare gemstones in the world in order to offer their customers superb pieces of jewelry.
